Analysis of the Phase II Report
NAWO's Community Owned Wind Power Victory
On December 28, 2001, Northern States Power Company d/b/a Xcel Energy filed an application for certificates of need to construct four high voltage tranmission lines in southwestern Minnesota to provide outlet capacity for wind generators expected to develop there. NAWO worked with several other key organizations to ensure approval of these power lines that will help bring wind power to market in the Upper Midwest.
